John R. Lomax, 87, passed away November 25, 2014 in Louisville, Ky.
He was born in Springfield, KY to Albert and Mary Lomax.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bill Lomax; two children, Mark and John Lomax.
John was retired from National Linen Service. Before his retirement, he was a well-known Artist, locally. John gave his family a love for hiking, and he enjoyed riding his bicycle. He volunteered during his retirement for Meals on Wheels.
John was previously married to Josephine B. Lomax, and is survived by his son, Mike; a daughter, Lucy Burton (Ricky); three grandchildren, Jami Keith (Jack), Lee Miles, and Mia Burton; two great-grandchildren, Darian Lomax, and Jolie Thompson-Miles; two brothers, Donnie (Virginia), and Jerry Lomax; three sisters, Ann Ray, Jodie Farris, and Jeanie Baunach.
Cremation was his wish, a Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 2:00PM at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.
