Obituary

Mayva “Sue” Weaver, formerly of Water Valley, MS, age 81, died November 25, 2014 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN. She was born July 30, 1933 in Paris, MS to the late Thomas Jeff and Corinne Frances French Williams. A retired teacher for the Desoto County Schools, Sue was a devoted member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova, TN where she was active in Sunday school and Bible studies, served as a volunteer and worked in the kitchen ministry. She was featured in David Waters column, in the Commercial Appeal, for her personal ministry of making and giving away crosses during her stay at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House.

A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Bro. Raymond Aven officiating.

A memorial service is planned for Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the chapel of Hope Church Memphis. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with the service following at 2:00 pm., with Pastor Milton Carroll officiating.

Sue is survived by two daughters, Becky Weaver of Cordova, TN and Gina Rogers of Arlington, TN; two sons, Henry Weaver III of Memphis, TN and Bill Weaver of Batesville, AR; two sisters, Bettye Barker and Ann Howard both of TN; her brother, Max Williams of FL; her grandchildren, Cody Rogers, Jared Rogers, Bailey Gray, and Meagan Phillips.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hubert Weaver, Jr.

The family requests that memorials be made to Hope Church Memphis or to the Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN
