Obituary

FISHER, Clark Wadsworth (nicknamed “Fish”), 91, of Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts and Stuart, Florida, died peacefully November 23, 2014, at his home in Stuart, Florida. Born December 28, 1922 in Brockton, Massachusetts, the son of Frederick George and Genevieve Clark Fisher, he grew up in Waban, Massachusetts and graduated from Newton High School. Attending Yale University, he played on the hockey team and was a member of both the engineering fraternity, St. Elmo, and social fraternity Phi Gamma Delta. He also served in WWII as a Lieutenant in the Navy and then graduated from Yale in 1944. Following in his father’s footsteps, he began as a salesman for Federal Paper Board Company. He quickly worked his way up to branch manager and eventually Vice President. He was an accomplished athlete, earning many awards and trophies. He was an avid golfer, setting the amateur golf course record at Brae Burn Country Club. His other sports included tennis, hockey, sailing, and his most recent favorite pickle-ball. Clark devoted his time and energy to his community in many ways including serving as President of the Sagamore Beach Colony Club (1996-97).

Clark is survived by his wife Eve Olsen Fisher; children Anne Presley, Clark W. Fisher (Salwa), Susan Doran (John), George C. Fisher (Karen), Ronald Greene, Wayne Greene (Cindy), Ebeth Peer (Allen), Stuart Olsen (Judy); 25 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews as well as his brother Champe A. Fisher and sister-in-law Donna Fisher. Clark is predeceased by his first wife Mary Anne Dana, son Steven N. Fisher and brothers Frederick and Donald Fisher.

Clark is remembered by countless other family members and friends who were blessed to know him. Tenacious and strong-willed, Clark’s life motto, “When the going gets tough the tough get going” serves as reminder to all of his fighting spirit.
