Nancy (Wetherell) Hamm, 83, of Medway passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was the beloved wife of George G. Hamm for over 61 years.
Born in Exeter, NH on April 29, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Albert S. Wetherell and Mary (Hallinan) Cook.
A resident of Medway for more than 50 years, Mrs. Hamm grew up in Penacook, NH. She graduated from Penacook High School in 1949. A devoted homemaker, she later worked for Northland Investment Corporation in Newton, MA before retiring in 1996.
Mrs. Hamm was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Medway and volunteer at the Rectory. She was an active member of a local bridge group and loved to spend time by the ocean in York Harbor, ME and Key Largo, FL.
Besides her husband, she is survived by six sons, Michael Hamm of Ware, Timothy Hamm and his wife Elizabeth Vago of Salem, MA, Allan Hamm of Milford, Paul Hamm of Medway, Peter Hamm of Milford and Christopher Hamm of Medway, four grandchildren, Kathleen, Steven and his wife Meredith, Brendan and Daniel. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Emily and Mila.
Mrs. Hamm is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Bell of Biloxi, MS and Marilyn Woodbury of Goffstown, NH, two brothers, William Cook of Boscawen, NH and John Cook of Plymouth, NH, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Thomas Hamm and sister of the late Susan Leddy and Sally Cummings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 30th from 2 - 5 p.m. at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).
Burial will take place in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.
