David Ferber, 75, of Millis, Massachusetts, a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff of Lucent Technologies – Bell Labs, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife and daughters at his side on Monday, November 24th, 2014.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, David lived primarily in the state of Massachusetts but also spent many years traveling throughout the United States.
A renowned Mechanical Engineer for over 35 years he specialized in the aerospace industry. David’s passions were physics, the sciences, and math.
He spent many years with his wife and daughters enjoying boat building, sailing, skiing, cycling, and hiking.
A loving and devoted husband, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary, his daughters, Kimberly and Karen, and two grandchildren, Madison and Brett.
There will be no visiting hours as it was David’s wish to allow family and friends to remember him in their own way. The family welcomes those who wish to attend a funeral Mass to be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 111 Exchange St Millis, MA on Saturday, December 6th, 2014 at 10:00 am.
Also at David’s request, there will be a burial at sea in the summer of 2015.
