Anna Elizabeth Whitlock, 90, of Dover, DE passed away on November 24, 2014 at home surrounded by family. She was born on September 8, 1924 in Griswold, CT and was preceded in death by the love of her life Daniel “Pap-Pap” R. Whitlock. The devoted mother of William Murphy and wife Sharon; Donald Murphy and wife Susan; Richard Murphy and wife Karen; Marjorie Murphy; Karen Chidester and the late Raymond and John Murphy. Dear sister of Edwin Burke; Martha Brenek; Mary Bohara; Harvey Burke and the late Peg Setterstrom; Frank Burke; Jim Burke and Ruth Panus. Loving grandmother of 17 and many loving great grandchildren. Anna was a proud member of the Doll Doctor Association, receiving her Doctorate of Dolls. She was a woman of many talents and trades and was a self-taught seamstress, with a passion for collecting clocks, lighthouses and antique sewing machines as well as repairing them.
Anna was exceptional in the kitchen, making her signature cast iron pineapple upside down cake for every occasion. She also enjoyed yard sales, decoration and re-arranging furniture, keeping up to date with the latest news on the royal family and Facebooking with friends and family. She loved to photo-shop photos in her own cut, paste and copy fashion to ensure all family members were included in them. Her favorite color was red and favorite flower was the yellow rose.
Friends may call at The Johnson-Fosbrink Funeral Home, P.A. on Saturday, 11/29, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at which time all are invited to attend the Funeral Service.
