Ruth C. Munzert Mailey Nigro, 92
Ruth passed away Monday November 24 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Worcester on May 27, 1922, daughter of George and Lisetta (Chamberlin) Munzert , she was the youngest of 7. Ruth was predeceased by her brothers George and Frederick Munzert and by sisters Barbara Arnesen, Bertha Premo and Cora Pitt. Ruth was married to Francis Mailey until his death in 1955, and then her second husband Philip Nigro until his death in 1986. She is survived by her sister Mae (Munzert) Lawson of Poughkeepsie NY, her two daughters Betty (Mailey) and husband John Kokolski of Worcester, and Janet (Mailey) and husband David Teffer of Eastham. Ruth also leaves her grandchildren Brenna (Kokolski) and husband Sean Miller of Holden, Joanna Kokolski of Worcester, John Teffer and wife Emily of Omaha, NE, Mark Teffer and wife Amy of Easthampton and Jessica Teffer of Eastham, and her beloved great grandson Alexander Sargent. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graduating from Girls Trade, Ruth had many jobs here in Worcester; a window dresser for F. W. Woolworth, helping her late husband Francis Mailey at Maco Supply, working the polls for many elections and as a caregiver at Glavin Regional Center.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13th at All Saints Church on Pleasant Street in Worcester at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to All Saints Church, where Ruth sang in the Saint Cecilia Choir.
