Quigley, Francis (Frank) 88, beloved husband of Genevieve (Baldassini) Quigley. Born in South Boston to Marie (Hennessy) and Edward Ralph Quigley Sr. He attended South Boston High School and was a WWII Veteran stationed in the Philippines. He met and married the love of his life Genevieve in 1950. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past February in Florida. Frank is survived by his wife and his three children, Brian and Bobbi Quigley of NC, Jane and John Stefanini of Ashland, Ma., Angela Quigley of Needham, Ma. and five grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother Edward R. Quigley Jr.
Frank graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in Chemistry and Northeastern University with a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Material Science. He worked for U.S. Army Materials & Mechanics Research Center in Watertown, Ma as Chief of Process Development Division for 30 years. During these years he established an advanced Armor Materials R&D program. He was a registered professional engineer and a recognized authority in the field of cast metals and armor materials. He received many R&D Achievement Awards, authored over 30 research publications and among many articles written about him, was quoted in Forbes magazine. After retiring from USAMMRC he went on to become the President & Chairman of Multi-Tech Corp. in Natick, Ma. Once fully retired, Frank & Gen spent winters in Ft. Meyers Beach, FL. and enjoyed beautifying their garden in Needham. Frank was extremely handy and did many home improvements projects. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. They made their home with their daughter Angela & grandson T.J. Erasmi. He especially loved spending time with his grandson & golf partner T.J. (Buddy). They made many visits to New York, Disney World, Washington DC, Red Sox Spring Training and spent many hours watching sports together. Frank was admired and loved by many. He was a true gentleman and will be remembered for his loving disposition, wit & generosity.
The family would like to thank the Needham Firemen & EMTs and the Newton Wellesley Hospital for their kindness. A Private Service for Frank took place on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. The Interment was in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton MA.
