Detrick, Dorothy Mae Diersing
Dot, Mawmaw, Grandma, Mom joined her husband of 64 years, Edward Detrick on a gloriously warm and sunny November 22nd 2014.
Born on May 12, 1925 in Louisville, Dot was 89 years old. A better mom, grandma, mother-in-law and wife would be tough to find.
Stories from her life include being a kid during the Great Depression, the 1937 flood, working at Nichols Army Hospital during World War II and tales of her favorite dog Peppy. She spoke glowingly of her dad who helped create her love of gardening. We will never forget how when playing with her five grandkids she became a kid herself. She lovingly created a beautiful home and yard in Audubon Park.
She leaves her brother Bill Diersing and his wife Eleanor, sons Doug (Cathy), and their children Michael and Lauren, Ki (Carol) and their daughters Erin, Emily, and Julie
Cremation was selected with eventual burial at Resthaven Memorial Park with her parents. Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. James Church on Taylor Boulevard.
