Age 86, of Oakdale died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, November 15th. He was preceded in death by Shirley, his beloved wife of nearly 60 years. He was also preceded in death by his son Steven, daughter Kristine, sister Mary and brother Peter. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Karen Mott (Micheal), son William (Fawn Hawkinson), brother John, as well as sisters-in-laws Lorraine Straka, Joan Elert and Judy Eldredge, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Tony was an electrical engineer at Standard Conveyor and American Hoist,and was CEO of AECON. He was a proud graduate of St Thomas Academy. He was active in many community organizations, most recently volunteering at the N. St. Paul Historical Society and supporting the St. Paul Fire Foundation. He made friends easily, and touched the lives of many with his generosity, dedication to family, and sense of humor. He enjoyed chatting with friends and family, often over restaurant meals. He took many photos throughout his life of his family, his travels and wildlife. Tony was an avid reader and crossword puzzler, and was excited about the sliding library ladder and new fireplace he was working on in the last days of his life. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Wednesday, November 26th, at Church of St. Peter, 2600 N. Margaret St., N. St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior, and luncheon to follow.
