Antero R. Pontes, 78 of Somerset, passed away on Nov. 21, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in the Açores, he was the husband of the late Belmira (Medeiros) Pontes and the son of the late Manuel & Maria (Liduina) Pontes. Prior to retiring, Antero worked as a Foreman in the Construction Industry, enjoyed gardening, and was an animal lover.
He is survived by his children: Mary Ann Couto of Dighton, Teresa Viveiros & Antero Pontes Jr. both of Somerset, and Thomas Pontes of Swansea; siblings: Manuel Pontes of Venezuela and Gabriela Pacheco of Canada; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC.
