Manchester– Demetrios G. “Chic” Kokkinos, 82, died November 19, 2014 at his home following a lengthy illness surrounded by his family.
He was born in Manchester on August 18, 1932 the son of George and Olympia (Bantis) Kokkinos
He served in the US Army as an MP stationed in Panama.
Prior to his retirement he was a 50+ year member of the I.B.E.W Local 490 and was an active electrician for 35 years.
He enjoyed playing cards, his neighborhood, but most of all he loved his family and friends.
Family members include one son, Christopher D. Kokkinos, one daughter, Angela K. Bouchard and her husband, Thomas, his granddaughter and joy of his life, Krista Bouchard, one brother, Charles Kokkinos and his wife, Martha, and Demetrios’s former wife, Margie Gilibert, all of Manchester. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Arthur Kokkinos.
A memorial reception will take place on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A service of remembrance will be held at 6:30.
Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date.
