Obituary

Francis “Frank” Keefe died on November 18, 2014 in Burlington, MA. He was 85. Mr. Keefe was born on June 12, 1929 in Hyde Park, MA to parents, Patrick and Mary Keefe. He was one of six children. He was an U.S. Army veteran serving his country from 1947 to 1949. He graduated from the Boston College with a degree in Mathematics in 1953 and Masters in Business Administration in 1965. He married to the late Elizabeth A. (McEachron) Keefe for 51 years and resided in the Town of Canton from 1963 to 2013. In 1966, Frank was employee at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology working on various contracts for the Apollo space program. In 1972, he joined the Massachusetts Criminal History Systems Board in Boston as a Systems Analyst. Later in his career, he was employed by Unisys Corporation in Cambridge, MA in contract with Federal Aviation Administration.
Mr. Keefe was active in local government having served on the Finance Committee for Town of Canton and was an energetic participant in annual town meetings. He was regularly involved in activities at St. John’s Catholic Church in Canton as a lecture and CCD teacher. He was member of the Knights of Columbus in Hyde Park, MA. Frank enjoyed reading and politics.
Mr. Keefe is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and David Wilbur of Taunton, MA, a daughter Norine and late husband Gerald Leaver of Stoughton; a daughter Virginia and son-in-law William Hassett of Rollinsford, NH; a son Matthew and daughter-in-law Jennifer Keefe of Foxborough, MA; Brother of Anne McCarthy of Canton and the late John Keefe, James Keefe, Katherine Nelting and Dorothy. Grandfather of Colleen Leaver, Joe Leaver, Mark Leaver, Madeleine Hassett, Michael Wilbur, Benjamin Hassett, Savanna Keefe, Elyse Hassett and Emma Keefe.
Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Saturday morning at 10:30. Burial Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Veteran United States Army. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canton Veteran’s Service Department 801 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021.
