DUDLEY – Elinor M. (Desautels) Deary, 87, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014, at Overlook Masonic Health Center, Charlton after a long illness. Her husband of 35 years, Lawrence E. Deary, died in 1984.
She leaves 3 sons, Kevin L. and his wife Patricia Deary of Kensington, NH, Kenneth J. Deary of Dudley and Daniel K. and his wife Sylvia Deary of Glendale AZ; 2 daughters, Susan E. and her husband Charles North of Keene, NH and Nancy A. Roberts of Webster; a granddaughter, Heidi Deary of Glendale AZ; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Harold A. Desautels and Alfred G. Desautels.
She was born in Dudley a daughter of Alfred L. and Gertrude T. (Kane) Desautels. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1944.
Mrs. Deary worked as a secretary for American Optical, a sales clerk for Stevens Linen Store and then as a receptionist for Ethan Allen before retiring in 1992.
She was a communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Church. She enjoyed walking, playing the piano, bowling, sewing, cooking and hosting her family
The funeral will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 24, at the Masonic Chapel at The Overlook, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton. Burial will be private. A calling period will be held in the Masonic Chapel from 9:00-10:00 A.M. prior to the service. Donations in her memory may be made to the Overlook Employee Appreciation Fund, PO Box 1000, Charlton, Ma 01507. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster.
