BUXTON- Janice Wales, age 75, went to walk with the Lord and her beloved husband Del on Nov. 17, 2014.
She was born on March 21, 1939, a daughter of the late Franklin and Virginia Sargent and graduated from Portland schools.
She married the love of her life, Delton Wales, on March 2, 1957.
Jan had a career in hospitality management. She was a foster parent and considered those children as her own.
Jan will always be remembered as a support system for her family and friends. She loved cooking, wine, flowers, and music. However, her love of family was most important to her. Jan's world revolved around her children and she would often say to them- “you are my heart”. She also loved spending time with her friends in Florida where she spent her winters.
Jan's sense of humor and and warm spirit never faulted during her final days.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Del; and siblings- Newell Sargent, Angie Moody and Franklin Sargent.
Janice is survived by her children- Jenny Waterhouse and her husband Kenny of Hollis, April Hardy and her husband Lloyd of Hollis, Kim Pease and her husband David of Old Orchard Beach, Jay Wales of Sebago, and Jill Northrop and her husband Cully of Buxton; siblings- Geraldine Rose, William Sargent, Susan Gerrish, and Delton Sargent; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Nov. 21, at 1 PM at the Grace Bible Church, 74 Deering Road, Gorham. Pastor Bob White will officiate. Burial will follow at South Buxton (Tory Hill) Cemetery in the Woodman section, next to her husband.
