Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother
TEWKSBURY: Margaret A. (Boyle) Carlino, age 89, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at the Lexington Health Care Center on Monday, November 17, 2014.
She was the beloved wife of Fortune A. Carlino, who passed away on March 27, 2012.
Born in Boston on February 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John Boyle and the late Anne (McDonough) Boyle.
At the age of 5, Margaret moved to Galway, Ireland and attended local schools.
In 1946, she moved back to Boston and became employed by the First National Grocery Store, where she met her late husband.
In 1956, Margaret an her husband moved to Tewksbury, where they raised their family and became parishioners of St. William's Church.
During the 1970's and early 1980's, Margaret worked part-time at the former Sweetheart Plastics Company in Wilmington.
She enjoyed traveling with her family to the seacoast of Maine and to Ireland.
Margaret loved all things Irish. In addition, she loved to read, sew, bake, listen to the music of Tony Bennett and the Irish tunes broadcasted every Saturday on WROL .
She is survived by six children, Peter Carlino and his wife Meryl Golovin of Scarborough, ME, Anne Mercier and her husband Jim of Bradford, MA, Peggy Irwin and her husband Brian of New Boston, NH, John Carlino and his wife Linda of Tewksbury, MA , Kathy Deignan and her husband Patrick of Baltimore, MD, and Cheryl LaRosa and her husband Victor of Charlottesville, VA; thirteen grandchildren, Aaron and Ashley Carlino, Amelia St. John, Jeffrey Mercier, Matt and Ben Irwin, Jennifer Carlino, Julie Eldridge, Nick and Caroline Deignan, Danielle, Jake and Aidan LaRosa; one great grandchild, Gus Carlino; one brother, John Boyle of Brighton.
Margaret was the grandmother of the late Michael Mercier and cousin of the late Teresa Duffy of Galway, Ireland.
Calling hours are Thursday, Nov. 20, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Friday, Nov. 21, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury.
