Obituary

Virginia Marie Thompson, 91, of Manchester, NH died November 16, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Virginia was predeceased by the love of her life, Vincent Thompson in 1997. They were married for 49 years.
Born in Worcester, MA on September 23, 1923, she was the daughter of Willis and Catherine (Conlon) Palmer. She was educated in the Auburn school system and graduated from Worcester State Teacher’s College.
Prior to raising her family, she had taught at Auburn High School for several years.
Virginia enjoyed golfing, traveling, spending summers in Yarmouth, MA and winters in Naples, FL. Above all else, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who cherished time spent with family. Her family was the most important part of her life. She will be watching from heaven to make sure her family continues to love and cherish one another.
She was, also, predeceased by, a brother Willis Palmer and a sister Jean Provost, her brothers in law Walter Barry, Robert Provost, John Spillane and her sister in laws, Sarah Palmer and Peg Palmer.
Family members include her sons, Paul Thompson and wife Amy of Manchester, Peter Thompson and wife Gail of Hyannisport Country Club, Stephen Thompson and wife Catherine of Cranston, RI, Michael Thompson and wife Holly of Germantown, MD, Mark Thompson and wife Jean of Bedford, NH; fourteen grandchildren; her siblings, Claire Barry of Auburn, MA, Paul Palmer of Newton, MA, John Palmer and wife Joan of Yarmouth, Rosemary Spillane of Worcester; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in St. Francis Xavier Church, Hyannis, MA. Urn burial followed in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Birch Hill Terrace Benevolence Fund, 200 Alliance Way, Manchester, NH 03102.
