Esther Frances (Sheffer) Locke, 100, of Franklin died peacefully at the home where she was born and lived almost her entire life with her daughter beside her. She was the wife of the late Frank R. Locke.
Born in Franklin, October 5, 1914, the third child of Frank and Nellie Blinda (Mason) Sheffer, Mrs. Locke had lived most of her life in Franklin.
She was married to Frank R. Locke for 68 years until his passing 2001.
She is survived by her daughter Marjorie Osgood of Franklin.
She was the mother of the late Frank R. Locke Jr. who died in 2009.
She was the sister of the late Frank and Gordon Sheffer.
She is also survived by her granddaughters, Kristine and Tracey and their mother Cynthia Forbush and by her 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by a very special friend, George Howe that with his support and love she was able to be in her home and have her gardens that brought her much joy.
At Esther’s request, there are no visiting hours. It was her wish to allow family and friends to remember her in their own way.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
