Worcester – Eugene A. Allaire, 86, of Worcester, died on Thursday, November 13th in The Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Allaire was married to the late Jane E. (Gregoire) Allaire for 51 years who died in 2002. He is survived by three daughters, Deborah J. Fox and her husband Bob of Dudley, Sherry E. Mitchell of Westfield and Dawn M. Germain and her husband Brian of Rock Hill, SC; his longtime companion, Lillian Lapierre of Worcester; 5 grandchildren, Heather Duhamel, Amy Walsh, Christopher Fox, Lynn Koenig and Joseph Germain; 5 greeat grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a brother, Paul Allaire.
Gene was born in Worcester, son of the late Arthur and Esther L. (DeVault) Allaire and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Allaire worked for 30 years at the Jamesbury Corporation as a group leader and retired in 1993. He was a member of the Leicester Knights of Columbus and he also attained the rank of 4th Degree in the Knights. Gene was an avid bowler and alo enjoyed golfing and served as the Drum Major for the Canterbury Street Drum Corp.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 15th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester, with a Mass at 11 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are on Friday, November 14th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
