Doris Marie Frediani, age 81, of Linden Ponds, Hingham, MA and formerly South Weymouth, MA passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Linden Ponds. She was born February 13, 1933, in Concord NH, daughter of Dante and Elsa Frediani. Raised in Newton, Doris earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Boston College. Following graduation, she was a staff nurse at the South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth and a visiting nurse in Quincy. Doris then earned a Master’s degree in nursing from Boston College in 1959. Upon graduation, Doris became an associate professor of nursing at LaBoure College in Milton MA. A beloved professor, she trained thousands of nurses in her 37 years at LaBoure. For more than twenty years Doris devoted herself to the care of her incapacitated mother at their home on Lakewood Road, South Weymouth, while lovingly mentoring her students. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sylvia Chapin of Conneaut OH. Her warm smile and kind words will be missed by her nephews Daniel Chapin, Centreville VA, John Chapin, Jr. (Sue), Conneaut OH, Michael Chapin (Joan), Beavercreek OH, Roy Chapin, Canoga Park CA, Christopher Chapin (Myleen), Simi Valley CA and niece Karin Tennant (Bob).
A Memorial Service will be held at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth on Tuesday November 18 at 1 PM. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.
