Jessie Lois Stone Hollis, 95, of Tifton died Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the graveside at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 14, 2014, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Hollis was born on February 21, 1919 in Guin, Alabama and was the daughter of Otis Stone and Josie Saville Williams Stone, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Lincoln “Bo” Hollis, who died in 1998; one son; five brothers; and one sister. She was a homemaker and caregiver and a member of Vanceville Congregational Christian Church. She was a past recipient of the Exchange Club’s Golden Deeds Award.
Mrs. Hollis is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Jeanette Hollis of Kearney, Nebraska; three daughters and one son-in-law, Betty and Edward Sellars of Tifton, Joyce McPherson of Tifton and Josie Kerce of Phenix City, Alabama; one brother, Edward Stone of Tifton; two sisters, Gracie Lee Cooper of Vanceville and Lavelle Jordan of College Park; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
