Obituary

SFC Richard Louis Demers, age 47, of Laquey, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014, due to injuries received in a vehicle accident.
He was born in Manchester on December 31, 1966 to Wilfred and Jacqueline (Bellemare) Demers. He graduated from Manchester Memorial High School in 1985.
Richard distinguishably served in the U.S. Army for 22 years and was currently stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He served a tour of duty in Iraq and was also stationed in Colorado, Texas, Hawaii and Germany.
The family includes his wife of 28 years, Karen (Gagne) Demers of Laquey, MO; two sons, Jonathan Demers and his wife, Megan, of Georgia and Shawn Demers and his wife, Nadine, of Washington; five grandchildren; two siblings, Michelle Champagne and her husband, Roland, of Allenstown and David Demers and his wife, Marcia, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony was held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Committal prayers with full military honors followed at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
