Henry W. Waniak (81) of Billerica died November 12th in the Beverly Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Rose (Makarevich) Waniak.
He was born in Chelsea, Ma son of the late Walter and Stela (Strychalski) Waniak. Hank was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired supervisor for the Digital Equipment Corporation, also was associated as a funeral home assistant at 238 Court Street Brockton. He was a member of the DAV and Billerica Lodge of Elks. Henry loved to build things and putter around the house. He loved spending time with his grand and great grandchildren.
Hank was the father of Nancy Fiske and husband Paul Waters of Billerica who were his faithful caregivers the past few years and loving father of Debbie and husband David Vaughan of Gardner, adored grandfather of Drew Fiske and CPL. Dwight Fiske, US Marines both of Brockton, Michael and Mitchell Whalen of Billerica, Jennifer Vaughan of Gardner, Justin Vaughan of Lowell, Nicole Vaughan of Boston and Christopher Vaughan of Hubbardston, great grandfather of Braden and Harrison, a sister Helen Strychalski, and his dog Bandit.
Visitation will be held in the Burns Funeral Home 354 Boston Road, Billerica Tuesday November 18th at 10am to 12 noon. Burial will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:45 pm.
