Joanne G. (Saitta) Janikian, a resident of Saugus and former 12 year resident of Revere and longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 72 years old.
Joanne was born in Boston on March 12, 1942, a daughter of the late Charles Saitta and Concetta (Penta) Saitta. She grew up in the North End of Boston where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Julie Billiart High School in the North End in 1959. Joanne worked as a Accounts Payroll Manager for over 15 years with Partners Health Care. She enjoyed decorating and woodworking and doing crafts.
Joanne is the devoted and loving mother to Tara LaCava and her husband Shaun of Saugus. She is the beloved sister of Charles Saitta Jr. of Jamaica Plain, Anthony Saitta and his wife Susan of Charlestown, Robert Saitta and his wife Camille of Millis, Richard Saitta and his wife Ann of Charlestown, David Saitta of Charlestown and Ronald Saitta and his wife Nevina of Boston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joanne's Funeral on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
