Jose Jermias Almeida, age 90, passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Highlander Transitional Care Center on Monday, November 10, 2014. Born in Água de Pau, São Miguel Açores, he was the loving husband of the late Julieta (Arruda) Almeida.
Jose was the loving father of Jacinto Almeida (wife Teresa) of Canada, Margarida Almeida (husband Joao) of Açores, Jorge Almeida (wife Fatima), Veronica Coutu (husband Keith) and Rui Almeida (wife Jacquelyn) all of Fall River; brother of Almerinda Borges of Canada. He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on FRIDAY November 21st here at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on THURSDAY November 20th from 6-8 P.M.
