Ryan J. Donovan
Beloved son, brother, uncle and
Member of New England Council of Carpenters Local # 218

TEWKSBURY: Ryan J. Donovan, age 37, a lifelong Tewksbury resident, passed away unexpectedly from a heart related condition, on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus.
Born in Tewksbury on October 13, 1977, he was the beloved son of retired Tewksbury Police Chief Alfred P. Donovan and Kathleen A. (McLaughlin) Donovan of Tewksbury and the devoted father of Lucia Marie Donovan of Wilmington.
Ryan attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1995. During his high school years, Ryan was a member of the Tewksbury Memorial High School Wrestling Team and was elected Captain of the team his senior year.
He was employed for the past 17 years as a Union Carpenter by the New England Council of Carpenters Local # 218 of Medford.
From the time he was young, Ryan was an avid professional, college and local New England sports fan. He also enjoyed the tranquility of hiking and mountain climbing.
Ryan's greatest joy was raising, caring for, and doting on the love of his life, his daughter, Lucy.
In addition to his daughter and parents, Ryan is survived by one sister, June C. Souza and her husband Richard of Tewksbury; one brother, Tewksbury Police Detective, Michael A. Donovan of Lowell; his paternal grandfather George B. Donovan and his wife Carolynn of Tewksbury; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ryan was the paternal grandson of the late Eleanor Donovan, the maternal grandson of the late Jack and June McLaughlin, and nephew of the late June C. McLaughlin, Ellen M. McLaughlin and Michael G. McLaughlin.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 13, at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Tewksbury. At the request of the family there are No cemetery services. Kindly Omit Flowers.
