Obituary

Jewell Delita Danforth Harper, 94, of Tifton died Sunday, November 9, 2014, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Landon Alberson officiating. Mrs. Harper will be laid to rest at Vickers Baptist Church Cemetery in West Berrien. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Harper was born on January 19, 1920 in Berrien County and was the daughter of Jesse Danforth and Emma Rogers Danforth, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Harper, who died on May 24, 2000; one brother, John W. Danforth; and three sisters, Louise Woods, Velma Kelly and Bertha Lee Lindsey. She was retired from Tift Regional Medical Center, where she worked in housekeeping. She loved her family dearly and loved growing flowers. She was of the Baptist faith. Before moving to Tifton, she was a resident of Lima, Ohio for 50 years.

Mrs. Harper is survived by two sons, Ronald Harper of Tifton and Julian Wayne Harper of Brookfield; five grandchildren, Shelly Lundin, Julie Mormon, Danny Harper, Michael Harper and Patrick Harper; and 13 great-grandchildren.
