Mr. Grady O. Thompson
Augusta, GA – Grady went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 8, 2014, Grady O. Thompson, 79, husband of Jan C. Thompson.
Mr. Thompson graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1959, and has lived in Augusta since 1996. He had served 2 years in the United States Army. Mr. Thompson retired as branch manager for Commercial Credit Corp. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church and was very active in church activities. He was also a member of the Jones-Daniels Sunday School class.
In addition to his wife, family members include daughter: Kay Proctor and husband Allan of Lawrenceville, GA; sons: Bubba Thompson and wife Debra of Aynor, SC, Ken Thompson and wife Karen of Evans, GA; grandchildren: Weston Proctor, Mandy Brown, Kaycee Walden, Christopher Thompson, Nicholas Thompson, Timothy Thompson, Joshua Proctor, Emily Thompson and Robbie Proctor; 7 great grandchildren; and sister: Vera T. Elliott and husband Bill of Augusta.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 10, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. David McKinley officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Mr. Thompson’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
