NEW BEDFORD -- Bertha C. (Best) Pentleton, 90, of New Bedford died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the widow of Stanley I. Pentleton.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late George and Mary Theresa (Belcha) Best, she lived in this community all of her life.
She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School.
Mrs. Pentleton was a lifelong Unitarian.
She was a published poet and a master bridge player.
A loving mother, in-law and grandmother, she relished helping her family build their home.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol J. Pentleton, and her son-in-law, Eric Robinson, of Chepachet, R.I.; a stepson, Harvey Pentleton of Holbrook; a grandson, Brett Robinson; and two stepgrandsons, Matthew and James Pentleton
