WORCESTER – Robert R. Kauppila, 76, died Tuesday, November 4, 2014 in his home after being stricken ill.
He leaves 2 daughters, Diane M. Dean of Webster and Brenda E. Kilcoyne and her husband Michael of Clinton; 5 grandchildren, Katie Farmer, Kerri Whitney, Melissa Goodwin, Nicole Dean and Eric Dean; and 7 great-grandchildren, Kelsie, Cody, Kyle, Paul, Brayden, Julian and Logan.
He was born in Worcester, the only son of Edwin and Gladys M. (Carlstein) Kauppila and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Commerce High School and earned a college degree in teaching.
He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Kauppila first taught small engine repair at Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a carpet and tile installer for many years. He also excelled as a carpenter and furniture builder. He enjoyed golfing.
No funeral services are planned. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
