Obituary

Francis “Buck” Rogers, 64, of Whitman died November 4 at Brockton Hospital after a valiant battle with cancer.

Born in Braintree to the late Earl and Margarita (Malone) Rogers, he was awarded a Purple Heart for combat service in Vietnam. He worked at jobs in construction and was a Harley Davidson motorcycle and car restoration enthusiast.

He is survived by a son, Francis Earl Rogers of Plymouth, sisters Patricia of Attleboro, Earlene Peebles of Pembroke and her husband Brian, Clare Gardiner of Dedham and Barbara Borghi of Sandwich, and brothers Earl of Minnesota and Robert of Arizona. His sister Kathleen predeceased him. He also leaves his companion of many years, Ruth Bump of Whitman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, 666 Plymouth St. (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman on Monday November 10 at 12 noon. Burial will follow at 2:45 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours will be held Sunday November 9 from 3 until 6 pm.
