Obituary

PAXTON-Paul J. Andonian, 90, of Paxton passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Ardemis (Moroukian) Andonian on June 25, 2014.

He leaves two daughters, Paula Bohigian of Worcester and Diane Andonian of Paxton; two grandchildren, Barry Bohigian and Lindsay Bohigian of Worcester; a brother-in-law Arthur Ehramjian of Tucson, AZ, along with several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law, Paul Bohigian, his sister Hazel Eljanian and husband George; sisters-in-law, Arus Ehramjian of Tucson, AZ, Alice Moroukian of Latham, NY, Azadoohi (Ozzie) Malconian and husband Charlie of Longmeadow, MA, and Mary Vosganian and husband Osgian of Baldwin, Long Island, NY; and brother-in-law Paul Moroukian and wife Alice of Latham, NY.


Paul was born in Spencer, MA, son of Misak and Arshalouis (Delsizian) Andonian, and resided in Worcester for many years before retiring to Paxton. He was a graduate of Commerce High School, attended Clark University, and worked as a Hearings Officer for the Marine and Recreational Division of the Massachusetts Registry. He also worked several years at David Clark Company, specializing in the research and development of space suit equipment for astronauts including Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, and John Glenn and had the opportunity to meet and work with the astronauts. Prior to that, he worked alongside his father at Western Fruit Market on Main Street in Worcester.



Paul was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Savior and was also a 32nd Degree Mason. His favorite pastimes included gardening, photography, and reading and watching historical accounts of WWII. Paul was known for his humorous anecdotes and always had insight, advice, and guidance about life. He loved vacationing in Maine with his wife and loved spending time with his family. Above all, he was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and friend.


Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10 at the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will immediately follow. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
