Obituary

Paul M. DeMatteo 63, of Weymouth formerly of Randolph died peacefully October 31, 2014 in South Shore Hospital. He was born in Boston. Paul was a longtime resident of the Wrentham State School prior to moving to Randolph where he lived for 18 years.
He was an exceptionally social gentleman who loved spending time with friends and meeting new people; always enjoying a good party where he loved to dance and socialize. He loved opportunities to dress up and especially enjoyed the times he got to ride in a limousine.
He was a big sports fan especially hockey and the Bruins. He himself participated in the Special Olympics playing floor hockey, basketball, bowling and softball. Holidays were a special time for Paul; Christmas in particular and Santa Claus. Over the years Paul worked for Reebok in Stoughton, St Vincent DePaul catholic charity and the Wrentham Can Redemption Center.
Paul leaves a host of friends from his residences and the staff that cared for him over so many years. They were more importantly his family. He had a special relationship with Sandy West, of Middleboro, and her family who enjoyed having him with them for all the major holidays, birthdays and vacations for over 35 years. He especially enjoyed his time with her sister Karen Jannace, of Brockton, and her two children Anne-Marie and Matt. Paul was much loved by a lot of people.
All are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church 455 West Street Brockton, Saturday November 8, 2014 at 10:30 am.
