Obituary

Dora S. Kusnitz (Fleet), 95, of St. Petersburg, Florida, a gallant lady who loved life, family and friends, died Tuesday, December 07, 2004, St. Anthony’s Hospital in St Petersburg.

Graveside services will be 12 Noon Thursday, December 9, 2004 at the Fitzgerald Hebrew Congregation Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia with Rabbi Moshe Elbaz officiating.

Mrs. Kusnitz (Fleet) was born January 10, 1909, in Fort Chester, New York, to the late Joseph and Molly Sugarman. A former resident and civic leader in Alamo, Georgia, she was a retired legal secretary and practical nurse. Mrs. Kusnitz (Fleet) was the oldest member of the Fitzgerald Hebrew Congregation where she served as former President of the Fitzgerald Sisterhood. She also served as an active member of the B’nai B’rith and the Order of the Eastern Star.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Kusnitz (Fleet) is survived by three sons: Joel S. Kusnitz of Largo, FL; Leland Warren Kusnitz of Monroe, CT and Pompano Beach, FL and Arnold H. Kusnitz of Rockmart, GA; one sister: Ida Hirschensohn of Sherwood Oaks, CA; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Her first husband, Dr. Morris Kusnitz and her second husband, Samuel Fleet, preceded her in death.

The family suggests memorials, in lieu of flowers, to the Fitzgerald Hebrew Congregation, c/o Phil Perlis, 346 Main St., Tifton, GA 31794.
