Auburn - William S. Hay Sr., 84, of 57 Stoneville Heights, formerly of Centerville, MA died Saturday March 30 in St. Vincent Hospital - Worcester Medical Center.
He leaves one son William S. Hay Jr. of Sutton; one daughter Nancy E. Berube of North Oxford; two sisters Marion Schold of Shrewsbury and Elizabeth Alzapiedi of Clinton; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother John L. Hay of Shrewsbury. Mr. Hay was born in Waltham, MA son of John F. and Mary I. (Libby) Hay.
Mr. Hay graduated from Shrewsbury High School and attended Bentley College. He was an Army Air Corps. Veteran serving during World War II.
He was a salesman for the H.C. Hook Company formerly of Auburn for 12 years retiring in 1982.
Mr. Hay was a member of the Greendale Men's Club Association, the Bass River Golf Country Club and the Elks. He was also an avid golfer.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday April 4 at 12 Noon in Bethel Lutheran Church 90 Bryn Mawr Ave.. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.royfuneral.com)12 Hammond St. Worcester is directing arrangements.
