Obituary


Wayne Marshall Derby, Sr., 54, of Attleboro, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital.


Born in Needham on February 23, 1960, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Ruth C. (Fales) Derby.


Wayne was a resident of Attleboro and Norton for most of his life and graduated from Norton High School in 1978.


A commercial truck driver for many years, he was currently driving for Owens & Minor in Franklin where he has worked for the past 12 years.


Wayne loved sailing and just being on the water.


He is survived by his fiancée, Cindy Long of Attleboro, two sons, Wayne Derby, Jr. of Attleboro and Patrick Derby and his wife Renee of Franklin, the mother of his two sons and loving friend Kathy Derby of Attleboro, a daughter Brittney Long of Attleboro and two grandsons, Jacob Derby and Alexander Martins.


He is also survived by his brother Rick Derby of Attleboro and two sisters, Jan Defreitas and Rae Boulay, both of St. Petersburg, Florida.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, November 8 from 12 - 3 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m.
