Mr. Adams was born May 31, 1946, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late Cecil Eldridge, Sr. & Mildred Minshew Adams. He served his country honorably in the National Guard. He was a lifelong farmer, carrying on a family tradition of cultivating the land. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as watching football. His passion was his family and he loved to spoil his children and grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith. One of his favorite pieces of advice to give his wife was to "get your ducks in a row and don't let them stray".
He is survived by his wife of 44 years: Merie Hutto Adams of Fitzgerald; two daughters and sons-in-law: Angela & Eric Stewart of Fitzgerald and Cecilia & Steven “Smitty” Smith of Rebecca; five grandchildren: Kevin Walker, Aubrey Wynn, Kayla Walker & Dakota Flanders, Kelli Walker, and Magan Smith; a great-grandson: Gabe Flanders; and two sisters: Ann & Mike Rodriguez of Rebecca and Mary Lois Adams of High Falls. His beloved Chihuahua, Little Bug, will also sorely miss him. In addition to his parents, a sister, Patricia June Adams, preceded him in death.
