BEVERLY: Dorina (Babineau) Gallant, 87, formerly of Groveland, died unexpectedly Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in the Beverly Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Clifford P. Gallant, Sr. who died in 1999.
Born in Lynn on July 13, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (LeBlanc) Babineau. She was educated in Lynn and had resided in Lynn and Groveland from many years before moving to Beverly four years ago.
Dorina worked in retail sales for many years before her retirement. She was a longtime member of the West Congregational Church in Haverhill, where she was an active member of the leadership team in the Community Bible Study. Since moving to Beverly, she was a member of the East Gate Christian Fellowship Church in Salem and enjoyed volunteering at the Beverly Senior Center.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Buttiglieri and her husband, Frank R. Buttiglieri, III of Beverly and Karen E. Laroche and her husband, David of Bristol, RI; two sons, Clifford P. Gallant, Jr and his wife, Cynthia of North Hampton, NH and Daniel M. Gallant of Haverhill; five grandchildren, Deborah A. Lennon and her husband Patrick J., Clifford P. Gallant, III, Lauren E. Gallant, Peter G. Laroche and Frank R. Buttiglieri, IV; one sister, Lucy Babineau and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Susan Gallant.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday in the West Congregational Church, 767 Broadway, Haverhill at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
