Obituary

Madelaine G. Drouin, 86, formerly of Park Ave. Woonsocket died Wednesday afternoon at The Friendly Home.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Bertrand C. and Rose A. (Berard) Drouin. A lifelong resident of Woonsocket she was a graduate of Woonsocket High School Class of 1945.
Madelaine was employed at the former Mercy Hospital and later at Landmark Medical Center in the Medical Records department for over 40 years. She also worked at United Transit in Providence.
Madelaine was a longtime communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church.
Madelaine was very talented at making ceramics and gave classes to others interested in learning the craft. She enjoyed her card games with her friends and had a special affection for her cats. Madelaine especially enjoyed the festivities and decorations that accompany the Christmas holidays.
Madelaine was a very family-oriented lady and was very much a grandmother and great-grandmother to many of her extended family members.
She is survived by her cousins including Michael Larko of North Smithfield and his daughters Jessica Larko-Goldstein, Rebekah, Kaitlyn, Anna and Sarah Larko and their children Ronan, Asher, Forrest and Ivy as well as her extended family.
Her funeral will be Monday at 10:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial in Precious Blood Cemetery will be at a later date. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2-5 pm.
