Donald F. Hoey, a life-long Natick resident and retired Natick Police Officer passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Leonard Morse Hospital of Natick. He was eighty-six years old.
Born in Natick and a graduate of Natick High School, he worked as a Natick Police Officer for twenty-eight years.
Don also served with the Army National Guard and was very active in the Natick Elks Club for many years. He loved his family, neighbors and the town of Natick very much.
He was a son of the late Henry and Margaret (Lunney) Hoey and the devoted husband of the late Natalie M. (Jackson) Hoey with whom he shared over fifty years of marriage.
Don was the loving father of Donna Mitcham and her husband William of Natick and the cherished and proud grandfather of Andy Mitcham and his wife Marybeth of Stony Creek, NY, Tim Mitcham and his wife Stephanie of Holly Springs, NC and Dan Mitcham and his wife Grace of Youngsville, NC.
Great grandfather of Brianna, Billy, Jackson, Cassidy, Jocelyn, Isabelle and Alivia. Caring brother of the late Richard, Robert and Raymond Hoey. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Don’s Funeral Service will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Saturday, November 1st at 11:00AM.
Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hour from 10:00-11:00AM. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick.
