Anna J. (Faria) Texeira, of Fairhaven died Tuesday October 28, 2014 at Sippican Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Anthony S. "Tex" Texeira; they were married for 55 years.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Francisco A. and Julia A. (Duarte) Faria, she lived in Fairhaven for most of her life.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mrs. Texeira was formerly employed at Aerovox for 35 years. She later worked at the Greater New Bedford Opportunity Center and Coastline Elderly Services.
Anna enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo, playing card games, going to the casino, and dancing. Most of all she enjoyed reading.
Survivors include her stepdaughters, Lorraine Pina of New Bedford and Betty Rose of Texas; her sisters, Agnes Pelt of Chicago, IL and Mary and Gloria Faria, both of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Barbara Venditti, Joseph Pina, Wendy Darjean, Heidi Bostic, and Joanne Texeira; her sister-in-law, Alice Morales; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews
She was predeceased by her son Dennis Texeira, her stepson, Anthony Texeira, Jr., her brother, Antone Faria, and her nephews, Derrick Faria and Lindell Pelt.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
