Paul D. Andrade, 84, of Westport, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center. He was the husband of D. Alberta (Yates) Andrade, his wife of 61 years.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Frank I. and Helen (Dempsey) Andrade, he had resided in Westport since 1966. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a corrections officer for the Commonwealth of MA for 28 years. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served his country in the U.S. Navy, Army and Air Force. He was a Westport Call Firefighter and a school bus driver. He was a member of both the Royal Travelers and the Retail Clerks Retirees Club. Mr. Andrade was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors along with his wife include 3 sons: Paul S. Andrade of CA, Peter G. Andrade and his wife Annette of Tiverton and Mark C. Andrade of Westport; 1 daughter: Nancy E. Koohy and her husband Jeffrey of Swansea; 1 sister: Barbara Wordell of Berkley; 5 grandchildren: Crystal G. Brown, Peter J. Frazer, Jordan P. Andrade, Amanda N. Koohy and Shawn J. Koohy; 2 great grandchildren: Lukas and Aniyah Frazer; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late F. Robert Andrade.
Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. George Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Memorial visitation will be from 9-10:30 A.M., at the Potter Funeral Home, prior to the mass.
Interment will be private.
