Obituary

CHICOPEE – Therese J. (Richard) LaBonte, 86, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, October 26, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on January 8, 1928, beloved daughter of the late Fortuna and Florida (Southiere) Richard. She was raised in the Flats of Holyoke and lived there for many years. She later moved to Willimansett and then to Fairview. She was employed as a secretary at the Springfield Registry of Deeds, the Holyoke City Clerk’s Office, Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke and the Holyoke, Chicopee, Springfield Board of Realtors. Active in her faith, she was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Previously, she was an active communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett, where she was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Sodality, a Eucharistic Minister and Choir Member. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Romeo LaBonte who passed away on March 30, 2003. She leaves her loving children, Denise Dupuis and her husband, Donald, of Chicopee and Richard LaBonte and his wife, Teresa, of Lake Mary, FL; her four cherished grandchildren, Aimee Baron and her husband, Robert, Andrea Roche and her husband, Mark, Jacqueline LaBonte and Matthew LaBonte; her two cherished great-grandsons, Evan and Eric; her dear sisters-in-law, Yvonne Hutcherson of Melbourne, FL, Yvette LaBonte of Agawam, and Annette Foley and her husband, David, of Holyoke; and her many dear nephews, nieces and cousins. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, October 30, 2014 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
