Stephanie Basha (Juska) Way , 90, of Pembroke, passed away at home on Saturday, October 25, 2014, with her family by her side. Stephanie was the beloved wife of 35 years to Edgar Way and was the loving wife of the late Robert Leishman.
She was born in the town of Szelejewo, Poland and moved to Thionville, France when she was 3 months old. Educated in France, she married Robert and moved to Massachusetts in 1946. While also running the household and raising a family, she was employed at the early Talbots mail order shops in Hingham where she made many longtime friends. Stephanie loved to travel, spending many winters in Florida with Edgar and was able to make several visits back to Europe.
She was the loving mother of Alan Leishman and his fiance Leslie Brasslow of East Bridgewater, Robert Leishman and his wife Diane of Rockland, Marc Leishman and his wife Lynne of Old Westport, and Christine Hoerr and her husband David of Pembroke. She was the grandmother of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of Marcell Juska and his family from Thionville, Fr, the late Frank Yuska, the late Henri Juska, and the late Sophie Gzwedga all from Thionville, and many nieces and nephews who reside in France. She is also survived by Edgar’s children, Karen Way-Snowden and her family of South Carolina, Scott Way and his family from Georgia, and Kristine Whelan and her family from North Carolina.
Relatives and friend are cordially invited to attend the visiting hours at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett Street, (Route 14), Pembroke, on Thursday, October 30, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
Graveside services will be held at the Center Cemetery, Oldham Street, Pembroke, on Friday, October 31, 2014, at 10:00 AM.
