Sandra A. (Moccia) Aldrich, a 9 year resident of Weymouth and former longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at her home in Weymouth following a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. She was 69 years old.
Sandra was born in Boston on August 12, 1945, a daughter of the late Angelo W. Moccia and Amy (Saccardo) Moccia. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1964. Sandra worked as a clerk at the City of Boston Credit Union for over 25 years. Sandra's passion and devotion in life was the love of her husband and her family, especially her grandchildren, nieces, nephew and grandnephews.
Sandra is the adored wife of 25 years to retired Boston Police Lieutenant Detective, David R. Aldrich. She is the devoted mother of David Aldrich and Lisa of Saugus and the late Dana Meagher. She is the loving Nana to Shawn and Courtney Meagher. She is the beloved sister of Donald Moccia and his wife Elaine of Brockton and Robert Moccia and his late wife Kathleen of Middleton. She is the loving aunt to Elaine and Shawn Sullivan & family, Kristine and Glenn Marzelli & family and Donald Moccia Jr. and Michele.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sandra's Funeral on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 9:30 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
