Linda D. Dunaway, 74 entered into rest Sunday , October 26, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 11:00am at New Life Church, 250 Bobby Jones Expressway, Martinez, GA with Pastors Bryan Matthews and Phillip Maxwell officiating.
Ms. Dunaway was the daughter of the late, M.J. and Roma Duggan. Linda was a devoted mother of two daughters, Leslie Chase Dunaway and Amy Dunaway Maxwell (Pastor Phillip)and two grandchildren, Robert Thomas Phillip Tallent and Harlee Raye Maxwell. She was also, Bible teacher and counselor. Her life was dedicated to God and His service. Her life was a testimony of His amazing grace.
Linda was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County, Class of 1957. She also received her RN diploma from University Hospital School of Nursing in 1962 and her BSB from Emory University in 1964, followed by her MSN from the Medical College of Georgia in 1976. Linda also received her diploma from the Jerry Savelle School of World Evangelism in 1996.
Ms. Dunaway served at Saint Joseph Home /Hospice as Home Health Care Coordinator. She completed her career in tele-health in the Congestive Heart Failure Disease Management at University Hospital.
She spent most of her career as a nursing educator having taught at University Hospital School of Nursing, Grady Hospital School of Nursing and Augusta College. Then she moved into Administration and served as an Assistant Director of Nursing at Saint Joseph Hospital.
Linda was a licensed minister and has served in various positions at New Life Church for the past 19 years. She loved missions work and ministered in 7 countries on many trips.
The Dunaway family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 from the hours of 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
