Obituary

CHICOPEE – Lorraine A. (LeBel) Deziel, 91, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, October 25, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home on Trilby Avenue in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on September 29, 1923, a beloved daughter of the late Herman J. and Florida M. (Cote) LeBel. She was raised in Aldenville, graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was last employed as an Adult Practical Arts Instructor in Knitting for the Adult Education Program at Chicopee Comprehensive High School and Holyoke High School. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. Lorraine was a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan and was always ready to watch them play. Now, from the Heavenly Kingdom, she will be able to bring them some wins in their future games. She was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Leo P. Deziel who was Called Home on June 6, 1980. She leaves her loving sons, David P. Deziel of Chicopee and Richard J. “Rick” Deziel and his wife, Lyn-Laeh’ of Hyde Park, VT; her four cherished grandchildren, Lisa Daponte and her husband, Mike, John Deziel and his wife, Ashlee, Jessica Deziel and her husband, Roy Cookson, and Adam Deziel and his wife, Tabatha; her eight cherished great-grandchildren whom she adored, Nicholas and Rachel Daponte, Leo and Ryan Deziel, Adeline Domina and Tamica, and Mia and Caydyn Deziel; her loving sister, Cecile “Cris” LeBel of South Hadley; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Deziel and LeBel families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving brother and sister, Roland LeBel and Rita (LeBel) Belisle and her husband, Raymond. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning, November 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
