GILFORD - Faith B. Devine, 91, went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2014. Faith was born October 16, 1923 to Winifred (Nichols) Pryor and Thomas Pryor in Ashland, NH, where she grew up and graduated from Ashland High School. She attended Providence Bible Institute in Rhode Island, Wheaton College in Illinois, graduating from Barrington College in Rhode Island. After college, she lived in Maryland, Connecticut and Massachusetts, before settling back in NH. She worked at Plymouth State College for many years as the Secretary to the Dean of Student Personnel and then retired from New Hampshire Ball Bearing as the Personnel Director.
She was very active in her retirement years working at Lamprey and Lamprey in Center Harbor and a volunteer at the Gilford Public Library. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed taking trips with her husband.
She resided in Gilford, N.H. for the last 40 years and most recently at Genesis Rehabilitation Center in Laconia.
She attended First Baptist Church in Meredith and more recently she became a member of Central Baptist Church in Belmont, NH.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Thomas E. Pryor. Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years, Edward of Gilford; her two daughters, Susan Gettens of Pittsfield, N.H. and Elaine Halsey and her husband, William, and their daughter, Angela, of Gilford; her sister, Sylvia Johnson, of Camden, Maine; her brother David L. Pryor of Tilton, N.H. and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 10AM to 12 Noon on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Central Baptist Church, 304 Laconia Road, (on Route 106), Belmont, N.H. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12 Noon, also at the church.
Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Gilford, with a reception immediately following back at the Central Baptist Church.
