TAUNTON – Normand Lamarre, 84, passed away on Oct. 21, 2014.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Alice L. (Girouard) Lamarre.
He is survived by Gilberte (Audet) Lamarre, his loving wife of 44 years, their two sons, Normand and Charles, three grandchildren, two brothers, Maurice of Pawtucket and Francis of Port Charlotte, FL, and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Albert and sister Therese Forest.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Providence College in 1953, received his master’s degree from Northeastern University in Boston and his CAGS from Laval University in Quebec, Canada.
Normand taught English and served as an administrator in the Barrington and Pawtucket, RI school systems.
His passion in life was his faith in God, the love for his wife, and devotion to his family.
Over the years he enjoyed travel, poetry and music.
He was a Korean War Veteran, a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and a Vencente.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Oct. 27th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 26th from 3 to 6 p.m.
