George Robert “Bobby” Woods of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, October 21 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Friday, October 24, 2014, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 4 to 6, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Woods was born December 16,1954, in Tifton, Georgia to the late Herbert H. Woods and Merlene Baker Woods Leggett. He lived in the community all of his life and was a 1973 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mr. Woods attended Ben-Hill Irwin Technical School and retired from Delphi after 30 years of service. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and reading. Mr. Woods was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife: Debbie M. Woods of Fitzgerald; son: Robert McDonald “Mac” Woods of Fitzgerald; daughter: Wendy Lane Woods Golden & Michael of Tifton; grandson: Cooper Lane Golden of Tifton; a brother: Tim Woods & Sandy of Fitzgerald; two sisters: Jan W. Morris of Americus, and Chris W. Wells & Carroll of Fitzgerald; his mother: Merlene Woods Leggett and step-father: Bill Leggett. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
